The Main Character (Barramundy) is a quiet, sensetive and timid 17 year old. Along with his real Mate Boof (Who sticks by his side), there is also Sally whose realtionship with Barramundy is complicated. At the beginning Barramundy is very attracted to her because she shows a lot of independence. As we keep on reading, we see Sally also becmome attracted to him. Sally finds Barramundy very mysterious and that explains why she is so interested in him.
The book is a story about a youngs man's past that he needs to forget, as well as a secreat he needs to figure out. The structure of the story I find it to be a little complicated at the begenining but as I kept on reading it made sense. The story starts off with the most shocking time of his life when he was a young boy. Then we meet the grown up Character as a 17 year old and from then on the story develops.
Personally I enjoyed the book because it was from the prespective of a very shy and mysterious young man. An other important aspect of the book was the family abuse issues. I find it very sad but at the same time the Author manages to grab me and want to find out what happens next.
